Bikes for Carson
Our little neighbor Carson was killed July 5th in an accident. It was covered in local and even national news: http://www.ksl.com/?nid=157&sid=21141206
Carson loved bikes, so the morning of the funeral the kids in the neighborhood all rode their bikes to Carson's house to honor him. The last few pictures on this post were taken by other people who live on our street and were posted on Facebook.
Since summer began Ruth has asked to ride bikes every evening knowing that, more often than not, she count on Carson and other kids to be out riding theirs. They had a little ramp Carson's dad made at Carson's request that the boys (sometimes joined by Jason) would do jumps off of. I especially enjoyed a conversation Carson had with Lily when he saw her with her cast, telling her about the cast he'd had that was blue. At the funeral, Carson's dad shared another story about Carson's cast. When Carson first got it on, he thought it was so cool--he felt like Ironman. The doctor warned Carson that if he hit anybody with it, he'd have his parents bring him back and they would take that cast off and give him a pink one. That was enough to motivate Carson. We will miss him a lot.
