Our Latest News in Reverse Order II

Continuing from the previous blog...

We had a relatively quiet Christmas day. Jason got a lot of overtime that week, which we were grateful for since we had some big bills coming up (tuition, mostly). We spent Christmas day with just the three of us.
Ruth wanted to spend time with each present rather than open the next one. She slowly started to catch on about opening wrapping paper...kind of.
Ruth got a tootsie pop at the end of her last doctor's last visit and she snarfed it before we even got home. We loaded her stocking up with them. Guess what she wanted as soon as she saw one.
The Pillings got together the Tuesday before Christmas. We took the kids sledding, had dinner, and made gingerbread houses. The weather was so nasty that day it didn't seem like sledding would be any fun, but we lucked out. The hour or so we were out there the snow stopped falling and the clouds parted. It was sunny and just plain beautiful. We had a blast.

I love spending Christmas with "just us" as well. There's something so wonderful about having that family time & establishing new traditions. :) Happy 2009 to you all!
