Kate on the Mend: Day 3 Update
We were able to have a nurse in our ward come over last night to help us change Kate's bandages (it's a three-person job) and they looked a lot better to us than than second night in the ER (we take pictures sometimes in case we need to show a doctor the progression, but of course not going to gross you out here with them).
The next available time is in the University of Utah Burn Clinic is tomorrow afternoon (Deborah kindly offered to watch our kids) so we'll go do a consultation. They're the experts, so if there is something more than what we're doing that should be done, they'll be able to tell us.
You can see the burns on Kate's face and neck a lot more now. We keep lots of cream on them so they stay soft and to fight bacteria. She is wearing a new onesie. We got her some things to wear at Kohls that help discourage from picking at her bandages (although that has not been a big problem so far, thankfully). We tried backing off on pain medication but found it was premature, so we keep up on Motrin and Tylenol.
All in all, things are going very well.
